NEEDS AND HAPPENINGS.....
Volunteers are needed to help in the Food Pantry Monday through Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. As of November 6, 2009 the pantry began serving this additional day during the week to meet the ever increasing food needs of our community. Please consider offering one day a month to this effort! Call Barb Dawes at 937-223-2294 to volunteer.

Esther's Closet Thrift Shop
Wednesday and Thursday 10am - 2pm
Esther’s Closet Thrift Shop is named for Esther Grice, a loving and devoted member of the former Oak Street United Methodist Church. She managed the Thrift Shop that was located at the Oak Street Church prior to Oak Street merging with South Park in 1995. Members of the congregation, as well as the community, donate useable clothing items to Esther’s Closet Thrift Shop where it is sorted for seasonal use by the Thrift Shop Ministry Team.
Esther’s Closet Thrift Shop is located on the third floor of the Education Building and is open to the public on Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

East Dayton Food Pantry
Monday - Thursday 10am - 4pm

The East Dayton Food Pantry provides assistance for persons who live in the area served by the church. The Food Pantry is open Monday through Thursday from 10am - 4pm and on Friday until 1pm. Persons coming to the Food Pantry have received vouchers from area Community Centers.
Volunteer ministry opporunities to share in the ministry of the East Dayton Food Pantry include the following:
Assisting unloading food from deliver trucks - Stocking food shelves in the pantry - Donating food or money for food - Answering the phone in the food pantry - Gathering donations from churches, schools and civic organizations.
Each year the Food Pantry offers a Spaghetti Dinner as a fund raiser and volunteers are encouraged to assist with cooking, serving and selling advance tickets. The dinner will be held this coming Spring, 2010.
